    The Iraqi Journal of Biotechnology is a peer-reviewed scientific journal established in 2001, with its first issue released in 2002. It is published three times per year by the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, University of Baghdad.


    The journal provides a scholarly platform for the publication of original research articles, review papers, and scientific reports across a wide spectrum of disciplines, including molecular biology, microbiology, environmental sciences, agricultural biotechnology, medical sciences, and bioinformatics.


    Its primary mission is to advance scientific knowledge, encourage innovation, and promote the exchange of ideas within the global scientific community, with a special focus on research relevant to Iraq and the Middle East.


    All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the highest standards of quality, originality, and scientific integrity. The journal is committed to open access publishing, making its content freely available to researchers, educators, and practitioners worldwide, thereby contributing to the dissemination and application of biotechnology knowledge.
