    Specialization . The issue includes twelve research papers in the field of genetic engineering and biotechnology.

    The  first research on the genetic effect of the CD36 gene on hypertension in hypertensive patients in Iraq. As for the second research, it dealt with the process of isolating bacteria and fungi from soil contaminated with petroleum hydrocarbons linked to corn plants, while the third research dealt with the investigation of Epstein-Barr virus from some women patients with cancer using the immunohistochemical technique. The fourth research dealt with the effect of the C677T gene as a male fertility factor. As for the fifth research, it is a study of the relationship between GTM1 and GSTT1 and some physiological indicators in men of low fertility. The fifth research dealt with a genetic and histological study of some types of bacterial and parasitic pathogens. The sixth research is the study of the molecular investigation of Aspergillus flavus isolated from wheat grains in Karbala. The seventh research on the factors causing the development of gastritis disease in some Iraqi patients. As for the eighth research, it deals with the production of Biocin from Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is resistant to many antibiotics. The ninth research is a study of production and purification with the biochemical properties of the lipase enzyme from Pseudomonas aeruginosa. As for the tenth research, isolate, identify and evaluate the growth of multi-characteristic plants that enhance the Serratia marcescens  for their growth-promoting effects on wheat under salinity pressure. The eleventh paper: The role of EDTA in biofilm eradication of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from wound infections. As for the latest research, studying the cytokines IL-17, IL-18 and IL-22 as biomarkers for Iraqi patients with psoriasis.

    We are pleased to address the honorable researchers in genetic engineering and biotechnology, with the publication of the third issue of the nineteenth volume in December of 2020 of the Iraqi Journal of Biotechnology  issued by the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for  post Graduate Studies / University of Baghdad, edited by Prof. Abdul Hussein Al-Faisal.. This issue included a group of high-end scientific research. The issue dealt with six diverse researches in the field of genetic engineering  .

               The first and second research came to study the polymorphism of some  genes, the variation and mutations related to female hormones and their relationship to some diseases leading to infertility, such as polycystic ovaries syndrome .

           The third research examined the gene expression of a gene associated with hepatitis  C virus in Iraqi patients. As for the fourth research, it dealt with the study of the gene expression of cytokine 17 in asthma  pediatric patients. In the same context, the fifth study dealt with the gene expression and anti-fungal activity of Thuja occidentalis and the effect of essential oils and their efficacy extracted from this herbal plant. The sixth and last research dealt with a molecular study of some virulence factors for Escherichia coli. isolated from urine in women with urinary tract infection in  AL-Najaf city.

    The second issue of the nineteenth volume of the year 2020 of the Iraqi Journal of Biotechnology was published in October ..... The Journal is issued by the Institute of Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology for Postgraduate Studies, and it is an informed journal that is issued in an electronic, printed and open-access version, which is refereed and adheres to international standards for publication.

          The issue contains five research papers, in addition to the scientific editorial, which includes research in the field of genetic microbiology and the genetics of infertility and reproduction, as well as a proteomic study

             The editorial included a study of leprosy, which is caused by the mycobacterium  leprae that cause leprosy. The research dealt with the epidemiology of the disease and the appropriate environmental conditions for the growth and multiplication of this m.o, which plays a role in its pathogenicity and virulence. The second and sixth research dealt with the study of gene expression and the heterogeneity or polymorphism of some genes related to determining the causes of infertility in men. The third and fifth research came about the molecular detection of genes for staphylococcus  spp.and Pseudomonas aeruginosa multi resistant to many types of antibiotics, and third research examined a comparison of methods used to detect and identify proteins in cells (proteomic study))

    The first issue of volume 19 of the Iraqi Journal of biotechnologies was issued on April 28, 2020. The number included seven (7) scientific papers in the field of genetic engineering and biotechnology. The first one dealing with  molecular study to estimate the genetic variation and the extent of familial affinity for the varieties of Iraqi wheat with the wheat class Uruk .The second research dealt with determining the prevalence of infection of the GIP  parasite Giardia spp by examining stool samples taken from patients with diarrhea in Al-Rifai City / Al-Rifai Hospital / Thi-Qar

     Governorate and by conducting a diagnosis of the parasite by molecular methods using polymerase chain  reaction technique. The third research dealt with the evaluation of the VITIK 2 system in the clinical diagnosis of Candida fungi. As for the fourth and fifth researches related to human genetics, including a tissue-immunohistochemical  study  of breast cancer in infected women and the other study, the polymorphism  of MIH1 genotypes in patients with Oligozoospermia

    , the sixth study examined the study of DNA sequencing analysis. In the yellow leaves of tomato fruits in the Iraqi market, while the seventh and last research spoke about studying the cytotoxic effect of Glucokinin extracted from the Bauhinia variegata plant on many cell lines.

    The third issue of the eighteenth volume was issued in January of the year 2019 for the Iraqi Journal of Biotechnologies. The number included eleven valuable research papers: its topics varied to include research in applied medical sciences, genetic engineering, molecular genetics, microbiology, and biotechnology. Where the first research is the scientific article review  dealing with genetic changes of Hodgkin's lymphoma and its causes and the risk factors that lead to their occurrence, the second research dealt with the evaluation of the glmM gene for the diagnosis of H. pylori, where this gene was used in molecular diagnosis in comparison with other methods which are rapid urease test and  with histopathological diagnosis. With regard to the third research, a search for genes related to polycystic ovarian syndrome in unmarried women in Baghdad governorate, especially the estrogen receptor gene 2, the fourth research dealt with the detection of the prevalence of the efflux pump gene in the MRSA bacteria that are isolated from from Iraqi patients, Also, the fifth research was poured into the same specialty by studying the effect of peppermint oil and anti-colistin on some genes of isolated bacteria from patients in Baghdad governorate hospitals. The sixth research was concerned with finding the relationship between multiple patterns and forms of the KRAS gene at the mutation site rs 712 G> T with a ratio  of the incidence of breast cancer in Iraqi women, while the seventh research dealt with the effectiveness of the chalcone substance, which is used as a flavoring agent as an anti-biomembrane substance that is considered one of the virulence factors for Staphylococcus aureus methicillin resistance bacteria, the eighth research dealt with the effect of bacterial infection on the Genital  tract on infertility in men also examined its relationship with some parameters of semen. As for the ninth study, it searched for the use of several methods in extracting and determining the quantities of deoxyribonucleic acid from the surfaces of cellular phones for use in the forensic study, the tenth study dealt with the study of gene expression of the e NOS gene in patients with Iraqi oligospermia , and finally the eleventh study studied The average level of micro RNA-101 levels in Iraqi patients with hepatitis B virus

The fifth research was the first molecular study to investigate the causes of resistance to some drugs used in the treatment of hepatitis B disease. Other studies dealt with a genetic and histological study of some bacterial and parasitic pathogens. Finally, a variety of research studies examined the genetics of the increase in the level of cholesterol in the family and the relationship with breast cancer in women.     The second issue of Volume 14 was published in November of the year 2015, which included an addition to the review article of twelve research papers on various genetics sciences. The review article topic dealt with the control of monitoring water pollution using the technique of Bioluminescence and compared it to some traditional methods. Research in general has addressed various aspects in diagnosing most types of pathogenic bacteria by molecular methods and their resistance to many types of antibiotics. Other research has dealt with the molecular diagnosis of the causes of repeated miscarriages in women, including bacterial pathogenesis and its relationship with multiple polycystic ovary syndrome and its methods of diagnosis through the use of related genes. Other research  also discussed the development of serum prolactin level and the level of C3 and C4 complements  components in women with trichomonas parasites.     Twelve papers on the various disciplines of genetic engineering and techniques used in diagnosis were discussed in the opening article on the subject of epigenetics and its definition and the importance and the role played by modern biotechnologies in the advancement of science as a whole. It also dealt with successful methods in developing plans for future research. The first research concerned the development of effective antimicrobial agents through the extraction and characterization of actin from the bacterium Acinetobacter baumannii. The second research also dealt with the molecular typing  of the bacterium of the Staph .  aureus using one of the restricted  enzymes ( RFLP-PCR )of the of the gene Coa . The fourth research dealt with the extraction and significance of the chemical reactions of Pseudomonas aerogenosa isolated from the soil, One research concerned the molecular detection of H-ras genetic mutation in people with bladder cancer in the a sample of Iraqi patients, other research  deals with molecular detection of bacterial pathogens for urinary tract infections in children, and a study to investigate the detection of E. coli and rotavirus in children People with diarrhea less than than 5 years, Another research concerned the detection of the type of cytokines( IL-10) important and which have a role in acute and chronic heart disease, the tenth research dealt with the role of multiple genotypes and their relationship with diabetes mellitus( DMtype2) type II, research eleven dealt with the importance and relationship of detection of immunoglobulin type A in the saliva and the cycle of immunity and protection of mucous membranes Finally, one study examined the measurement of genetic diversity and the content of prolin in some types of wheat stock.

    The second issue of the volume thirteenth of the year 2014 was published by the Iraqi Journal of Biotechnology, a special issue of the second international scientific conference held under the theme "The Role of Genetic Engineering in the Diagnosis of Diseases and Syndromes", October 15-16, 2014. The issue included twenty-seven researches in various biotechnological disciplines and their role in the diagnosis of genetic diseases and other in the diagnosis and detection of genes related to diseases and research on the diagnosis of pathogenic and environmental microorganism and some parasites that infect humans and animals by traditional and molecular methods and detection of some of their genes. The number also included research in the diagnosis of certain cancerous diseases and the use of cell lines in the study of pathogenesis of some types of cancer. Another research have also study the diseases that cause disorders of food metabolism such as diabetes, thyroid disease and related diseases such as polycystic ovary disease and its relationship with some genes. Many genes have been diagnosed with modern molecular methods. In the field of medicinal plants, the research dealt with some of the cytotoxic effects of hot crude extract of alovera plant on HePG2 tumor cell line.

    The second issue of the volume thirteenth of the year 2014 was published by the Iraqi Journal of Biotechnologies, which included ten researches in various fields of genetic engineering, human, animal and plant sciences The first study from the Arab Republic of Egypt is a study on the relationship between the genetic variance of Gene interleukin 18 in 137G / C and 607 C / A and type 1 diabetes in the same type of Egyptian patients. The researchers concluded that interleukin 18 is closely related (137) . The second study also examined variability in the receptors of the neurotransmitter gene D3 and the second coding logic of HTR2A in patients with schizophrenia in Baghdad, Iraq. The eighth study dealt with the detection of mutations of the hormone gene stimulating thyroid gland in patients with thyroid gland disease in Basra / Iraq, where the study indicated the possibility of mutations linked to the occurrence of the disease. Research  ten studied a study on the proteins of the vector carrier for signals in Helicobacter pylori bacteria where results showed overlapping cellular components that there was significant interference with most of the proteins studied. The second research was conducted on the preparation of  tuberculin  from bovine tuberculosis bacilli and study of its antigenic properties and the third research on the determination of the concentration of interleukin 23 and 17 - A in the patients of psoriasis in Baghdad . The fourth study included the study of the aromatic violets found in Iraq for their importance in medical uses as antioxidants and bacteria. The fifth research dealt with the use of black tea leaves as an effective substance used for bio-absorption. The seventh research evaluated the response of four varieties of potato to grow under saline conditions in vitro. The latest research included the biological breakdown of concentrations of some pesticides in polluted water using a special type of Bacillus bacteria

The topic of the research paper In Silico research of some of the side effects of drugs used against cancer patients in Iraq, where studied some of the negative aspects caused by the use of anti-cancer drugs in Iraq of (30) medicine . The first study dealt with breast cancer and the investigation of genetic variations in the 10 axis of the BRCA2 gene and the role of these variations in the diagnosis of breast cancer and an impact on the mortality rate in patients still under study. The second study dealt with the role of Matrix Methalloputins - 2 as it is a group of protein enzymes which represent important targets in the treatment and diagnosis of cancer and human cancer, especially in the course of diagnosis and treatment of urinary  bladder cancer. The third research involved molecular screening of the human cytomegalovirus gene in Iraqi women with pregnancy problems, The fourth study dealt with the level of apoptosis and necrosis in patients with chronic leukemia resistant to chemotherapy, where the results of chemical biopsies of patients showed that they lead to increased genetic expression of the gene by measuring the level of phosphatidyl Serene-ps, which led to the proportion of apoptosis  and necrosis. The fifth study aims at clarifying the effect of the structure on the spermatozoa and the sperm in the rats' testicles, since the heptachlor is not chemically stable but rather a catalyst for the tumor through an effect on DNA.. The study investigated the genetic variation in the interleukin 10 gene and its association with type 1 diabetes mellitus. The seventh research was using the polymerase reaction technique to investigate the exo S. exfoliated gene for exotoxin in local isolates of the p. Aerogenosa that causes ear infection.
